Birthday Bashes

Everyone dreams of throwing themselves a humongous birthday bash, or having their friends and family throw a humongous birthday bash for them. So when the time comes that you're making enough money as a Mississauga mortgage broker to afford such a soiree, go for it! Big birthday bashes are a big job to arrange, though, so the more help you can get, the better. Food wise, your best option is to hire a caterer to take care of the whole thing. Here are some things to think about when sitting down with a caterer to discuss your birthday party.

The Cake

Since it's a birthday party, the most important part of the food end of things is the cake. It's important to talk about the cake first, since your caterer may not be willing or able to make the kind of cake that you have in mind. If he or she can't or won't make the huge, extravagant, fondant-covered masterpiece you envisioned, why not put the proceeds from the latest houses for sale in Brampton that you helped to sell towards hiring a specialty baker to make your cake?

The Food

Whether the party is for your birthday or to promote the new Toronto MLS homes your agency has listed, people will expect to be fed. In fact, it's the reason they come to parties in the first place. You'll want to think about whether you're going to want a more formal sit down dinner for your party or a more informal buffet arrangement. Your choice will depend on the age of the guests and the planned activity level and dress code of your party as well as your budget.

The Snacks

Regardless of whether you're also having a sit down dinner and of whether your guests are all rich members of the Sutton Group, you'll want to provide them with snacks to much on during the games/mingling portion of the party. It can be as simple as bowls of candy and chips for your child's birthday party to platters of specialty hors'd'oeuvres made from caviar and quail eggs. Your budget, your guest's tastes, and the sophistication level of your party will factor into your decision.

The Guests

It's important to pick your party menu with your guests in mind. If you're a real estate agent in Thornhill, you don't want to be served hot dogs and potato chips for dinner, but if you're nine years old this is probably your idea of the perfect meal. You'll also need to take into account any special dietary restrictions (i.e. if anyone is a vegetarian or is allergic to shellfish) when you're planning your menu so you don't exclude or endanger anyone.
