Food poisoning. Chances are we've all had it at least once in our lives, even if we never realized it. Every person, whether they're a Vaughan real estate agent or a homeless person needs to eat three meals a day to even stay alive. Statistically, we're bound to encounter food that disagrees with us. The trick is to recognize which foods are likely to cause food poisoning, determine if you have food poisoning, and seek the proper treatment. We can help you with this and more.
Causes
Food poisoning is caused by ingesting food that has been contaminated with harmful bacteria. Bacteria usually begin to grow on food when it has not been properly stored or it has been left uneaten for too long. Being left inside a Toronto airport taxi all morning can easily turn a tuna sandwich into poison. There are many different foods that can poison you when they go off, but the most dangerous kinds are meats such as chicken and pork, and milk products such as yogurt and mayonnaise.
Symptoms
It can be difficult to tell if you have food poisoning, because food poisoning is a blanket term applied to a variety of bacterial attacks on the stomach. Generally speaking, food poisoning mimics the gastrointestinal symptoms of the flu, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. Often the key factor that shifts the blame from the flu to that sandwich you thoughtlessly ate while working on your currency ETFs is that food poisoning comes on more suddenly, usually a few hours after eating.

Treatment
If you think you have food poisoning, you should seek treatment from a doctor. Some cases of food poisoning are not so severe, and many people continue working with their best hair remover while they are sick. Some types of food poisoning are very serious, however. E.Coli, Salmonella, and Botulism are all life threatening. Therefore if you are sick enough to worry you, go to the hospital for antibiotics and fluids, even if your gastrointestinal symptoms mean you might embarrass yourself on the way. It is your life at stake.
Prevention
The best way to prevent food poisoning is to only eat food containing meat or milk products that you know the origins of. Any leftover meat should be wrapped in shrink sleeves, refrigerated, and eaten within three days. Never leave raw meat out on the counter and always cook it to the recommended internal temperature (usually 71 Farenheit). Keep milk products refrigerated and eat before the expiry date.
