Weddings

Everyone wants their wedding to be perfect in every detail, from the perfect location, maybe on High Park real estate in Toronto to a custom designed dress. The menu at your reception is a big part of what will make your wedding memorable; here are some tips to help you get it organized.

Have some options available. You might choose to have a served or a buffet style meal at your wedding. Either way, you should have some options for each part of the meal for your guests to choose from. A couple of choices of proteins, side dishes, salads, and so on will make sure everyone's tastes are met. If you're having a very intimate affair, maybe with just a handful of people in a St. Lawrence Market condo, you can consult your guests for options. Otherwise, consult the advice of your caterer.

Eat what you want. Whether you decide to have a sit down meal or buffet style, make sure that the first choices are ones made by you. In other words, don't go for what you think will be agreeable to everyone. It's your day and you should have all the food you love to eat on the menu. If you're having a large wedding, with people coming from Kitchener real estate all the way to overseas, it's unlikely everyone will be completely happy with the meal choice. It would be a shame if the one who ends up unhappy with the food is you!

Have some appetizers out for your guests. If you have ever been to a wedding, you know that receptions sometimes run quite late. The bride and groom tend to be unaware of the passage of time as they are so busy, but guests can start to get very hungry. Get your Ontario caterer to have some appetizers out to take the edge off while they wait for your entrance.

Include desserts. Weddings can be a bit strange as there is a giant cake served, but not everyone is interested in eating it. In fact sometimes the cake is just decoration. Ask the catering company to have a few different desserts available so everyone has something sweet afterwards.

Remember beverages. Believe it or not, some caterers might not include beverages, and you need to make sure they are available at the reception. Coffee, tea, and punch are all standard offerings (in fact without them some people will probably complain).

The best menu tip anyone can receive when it comes to a wedding reception is to follow the advice of your caterer. These professionals have been through everything before and tend to know what works best in any number of different situations. Professionals are that for a reason, right? You wouldn't buy a house without the advice of a Toronto real estate agent, so why not use your caterer to your advantage with tips on the menu? With their help, your reception dinner is guaranteed to go smoothly.
